Hi guys,
Once posts are teacher assessed OR peer-assessed (this should be ongoing!!) you need to ensure that you are pasting my comments into a post and labelling it 'assessment'. This then needs to be acted upon. You can reflect on it, BUT I also need to see evidence of progress and improvement from this.
It is vital that you do this. For an example, look at how Kayleigh has done this below - please look at it for help/guidance.

Peer-assessment partners
Hi all,
This is the list of your peer-assessment partners. There is one group of 3. Basically, every 3rd piece of work uploaded, I will be expecting you to peer-assess and give detailed feedback (like the comments I put on your blog). This will take the nature of WWW and EBI (what went well/even better if).
I will be expecting the person who owns the blog to upload this to a post called 'Peer Assessment' and put under the label 'Assessment'. You will be expected to show progress and reflect on this, showing how improvements are being made.

Half-Term Homework
Hey Guys,
Over half-term, I will be expecting you to have:
- Your Production Diary up-to-date. This can be week-by-week or lesson, by lesson. This needs to reflect on the learning/journey taking place.
- Blogs up-to-date, with everything on it
- Begin planning for your own film opening - ready to pitch an idea to your group on your return
- Create a questionnaire for finding out about film that people want- start to establish what genres people like (for the target audience you are interested in), potential plots, characters, etc.
Come back ready to do some serious planning - we will be starting filming about 3-4 weeks once back!

Well done to the vast improvement many of you have made on your blogs!
Not happy with all blogs though - LOTS of work is still missing.
Reports are being completed as we speak and some of you will not be happy with what you see... come and see me if you need guidance/help with anything please!
What should be on there:
Latest:
- Preliminary Task planning: Storyboard, script and final video, with reflection on your choices/what went well and how it could be improved
- Juno opening - storyboard and plans - including practice Health and Safety planning grid for filming. Final opening (once edited) and a reflection of your final product.
Previously:
- Analysing your still images
- Film pitch idea
- Analysing a dvd poster
- Genre signifiers
- High budget vs low budget institutions
- Camera work information
- Opening scenes conventions (and analysis of film opening)
- Started production diary
- All notes from all lessons, related to these tasks.
- Peer-assessment feedback on your opening scene pp.

General Blog Feedback
Hey Guys,
I've got through assessing about half of your blogs. Firstly - well done for lots of the great work I am seeing on there. However, some of you are still missing some of those vital pieces I have mentioned you need on there.
A few general reminders:
- Ensure all work is uploaded as soon as possible after the lesson (classwork and homework)
- Reflect on as much as the work as possible (This will be through the form of a production diary, but can also be completed under your posts).
- All posts need to have labels. Your labels should be: (Assessment, Research, Planning, Preliminary Task, Production, Production Diary and Evaluation)
- All of your background images need to be based around a film!
- You will need to ensure that your blog name has used apostrophes correctly - eg. Sparrow's Blog - rather than Sparrows blog - sorry Ben, but first example I thought of!)
- Not all of your work should be on Prezi/pp - I would much prefer you writing into a post chunks of information and adding images - the exam board like this too! Use prezi/pp every so often.
Anyways - keep on going with the good work - but keep adding it all - want to see detailed and effective pieces - it is ALL seen by the exam board.

Storyboarding
Storyboarding is really important for planning the opening to your film sequence.
Read through the storyboarding information slide below.
Task:
Watch a film opening (of your choice) and identify the 6 most important shots. Draw a stoyboard of these shots, annotating for:
- Genre Signifiers
- Mise-en-scene
- Camera
- Editing
- Sound
Ensure it is drawn, coloured in etc (colour is also important!)
Once finished, take a photo of your storyboard and upload to your blog, including a reflection of this task.

- Analyse your still image and write it up (including putting up your images on your blog)
- Present your film and ideas on a prezi or powerpoint and upload to blog (include images etc)
As you didn't see Miss Bennett - additional homework:
- Analyse a film poster of your choice and ensure that you annotate for: Genre, narrative, characters, mise-en-scene, camera etc.
This will all need to be on your blogs by: Monday 30th September.
